Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Business Information & Design engineer (BI developer)
who wants to design analytical reports on company data and deliver them to top
management and other interested parties. You will work with common (enterprise-level)
solutions and establish best practices for data visualization and business information design.
You are capable of building reports and data sets, using queries and code to extract and
model data and you have the financial nous to make sense and interpret those reports to
business users.
As a BI developer, you will be working under the guidance of the FP&A Manager and
business users, collecting their requests, and then developing and updating BI reports to
accommodate business needs. The BI developer will be expected to adopt company
standards and common reporting terminology and to help align existing and future
reporting requests to such standards. You will also work with the Enterprise Architect
whenever data schemas need redesigning to accommodate new reporting requirements.
Responsibilities
- Collect and maintain the set of business reporting requirements.
- Set up and maintain BI tools, infrastructure, and integration with company data sources.
- Develop BI reports based on the above requirements.
- Propose data schema and data flow optimization for reporting performance and
enhancement as needed.
Skills
- Adept at using BI reporting tools such as Quick Sight, Air Table and Power BI.
- Experienced in generating SQL queries.
- Understanding data modelling and data schemas (normalised, flat, star, snowflake, etc.).
- Understanding database operations and optimisation for AWS infrastructure and data
basis. - Understanding data and query optimisation, profiling, and performance monitoring tools
and techniques. - Creating and maintaining business requirements and other technical documentation.
Five to eight years of professional experience, of which at least three years have been in a
Business Intelligence role. A background IT coupled with finance/analytical experience is
optimal.
